Embarrassed that he had lost consciousness, Daniel reached for his things to clean his face and make himself presentable before heading out to apologize to the Scout Commander. He realized as he reached to find his satchel that he was in an unfamiliar carriage, a surprise further complicated by the presence of the satchel full of his things.

As he readied himself, Daniel was confused by the complete lack of soreness he felt. Instead, he felt invigorated, refreshed, and more robust then he had ever felt before. Overall, the travel had not been terrible, but he was ready to be done with traveling, done with people for a while, and done with nighttime monsters. Awful or not, he put travel on the list of things he hated and would avoid the most, right below his fear of spiders, and right above his hate of arithmetic.
